5 Key Street Style Looks Spotted at the Shows of London Fashion Week

Lon­don Fash­ion Week has once again come to an end, but has left us no doubt with an abun­dance of fash­ion inspi­ra­tion for the season. 

Animal Print

This arguably con­tro­ver­sial styling choice is one you either love or hate, but there’s no doubt we’ll be see­ing more of it this com­ing spring. This par­tic­u­lar guest has styled the look per­fect­ly. She shows us that decent tai­lor­ing and lay­er­ing can ulti­mate­ly make a loud styling choice feel min­i­mal­ist and timeless.

Statement Red

Spot­ted out­side of Paul Costel­loe, if not every oth­er show, red was undoubt­ed­ly the state­ment colour of the sea­son. Add a sim­ple bag or a pair of tights to an oth­er­wise neu­tral out­fit as a sus­tain­able way of adding intrigue to an outfit.

Lace Layering

A lace cat­suit under­neath a frilly silk dress and state­ment chunky ring is such a clever way to add edge to an oth­er­wise very fem­i­nine out­fit. Paired with the Lulu Guin­ness bag, I’m lov­ing the con­trast of mood cre­at­ed so clev­er­ly by lay­er­ing dif­fer­ent colours and textures. 

Business Casual

This look is all in the styling. Sim­ple pieces like a white shirt, a pair of good jeans and a tie found in a char­i­ty shop or your dads wardrobe, when lay­ered well, can make a fun and put togeth­er look. Its also a great way to add per­son­al­i­ty to an out­fit, such as these guests who by pair­ing a puff­ball skirt or a NY cap with their out­fits have added a touch of play­ful­ness and tak­en the seri­ous­ness away from an out­fit for the office. Fash­ion week for me is all about prac­ti­cal­i­ty and what bet­ter way to feel warm yet still put togeth­er than by stick­ing on a state­ment over­sized coat. Adding the belt over the top and the pop of blue under­neath makes the styling choice feel delib­er­ate yet still effort­less and total­ly practical.
